Sunday, Day of Rest?!

 11-6-2022

It’s Sunday and I thought you might like to know what I do. I’m up at 5:00 to call my lovely wife as I do every morning.

Following that I head to the laundry for my weekly chore. I do it then because most everyone else is sleeping in and I have the place to myself. I head back to my room for my weekly shower. They are very restrictive of water use here since they create it all from a reverse osmosis plant and this time of year demand is high. I’m happy to say I don’t do a lot of sweating here so I’m comfortable with that. I hope all my co-workers are also good with me but now that I’m qualified to work everywhere I work alone.

I’m off to church next then off to the dining facility for Sunday morning brunch. They really put on a great brunch that the whole community looks forward to. One of the things on the brunch bar are large stuffed green olives. I always take a few back to my room with some cheese slices and cubes. The olives make me think of a longtime friend who always serves them when she hosts a party.

The rest of the day I’m free to kick back and relax. Today I watched the Georgia, Tennessee football game, game 6 of the World Series and a John Wick movie. From there it’s off to dinner then back to the lounge to work on my daily blog. Finally, I return to my room to watch a movie and head off to bed. Even my off days are busy here, but it does make time fly.

One other note of interest, the first time I came here the population of men to women was about 2/3’s men 1/3 women. The women had a saying, “the odds are good, but the goods are odd”. I would estimate that number is now about 50/50. Probably still “odd goods” though!
